As we approach the end of the year, here are a few things coming up (in no particular order):
First up is Archer Pictures:
Archery Pictures will be March 29th during normal practice time. For this however EVERYONE needs to be there at 6:30 and we will let people go as quick as we can after starting with the group picture/senior pictures if possible and working our way through individuals after that. Please be there by 6:30!
Next is the BE Pre Nationals Tournament and Senior Night:
Our second and final tournament will be on April 23rd. Flights are from 9AM to 5PM in both gyms and this will be a joint tournament with Eastside Middle. They had to cancel a tournament earlier in the year, we were only going to do one gym, so it worked out to join forces with them and split the work! We will only be responsible for operating the big gym and the front concessions ect., they will be manning the small gym and everything else back there. A signup will be sent out for help during the tournament later this week.
Senior night will also be during this tournament between the last flight and awards. Senior parents and seniors please make sure to be there at the end of the tournament! More info will be given out at practice as there is a paper I need each of our seniors to fill out.
The date is still pending for our Archery Banquet. It will be at the end of April or at the start of May. We will let you know as soon as we have a confirmed date with the school.
Every year we make a video for the seniors. Parents of seniors please send me any and all pictures of your seniors to firstname.lastname@example.org when you are able. Pictures need to be submitted by April 24th at the latest. This can be anything from baby pictures to senior photos. If you have any questions just let me know!
Nationals and World:
Nationals will take place May 11-13 and the World Tournament will be June 22-25. Both take place at the fairgrounds just like State this year. Our day/flights will be determined for Nationals in the near future and World will be determined after Nationals is over. We do not know if both teams we be participating or what the limitations might be for who is able to participate in each. We will let you know as soon as we are able.
The calendar is now working to properly sync with the BEHS yearly calendar. This was supposed to work from the start but at some point stopped and was never fixed. Now you can accurately see what is happening with both archery and the school.
The state tournament is right around the corner. Due to flight limitations we had to split the teams across two days. One group will be shooting Friday and one on Saturday. Both are at 3:30PM at the fairgrounds on their respective days. If you need help figuring out transportation let us know and we will work with you.
For those who shoot on Friday:
You will be excused early from classes. Whomever is checking you out just needs to let them know it is for the state archery tournament and it will count as excused. Kenny recommends getting checked out between 1:30 and 1:45 to avoid the school traffic.
Lets bring our A game!
PLEASE NOTE: If you have not signed up to help please do so here:
There are a few that have said they will be around to help all day, I have already entered your name in signup genius in the open, applicable spots.
Some of you will be moved as needed to other positions depending on the help we need during the flight.
If you are helping out in the morning, please be at the school by 8:30 at the latest, otherwise please show up for your assigned time. If there are any additional donations for the raffles, concessions, or for the hospitality room, please bring them tonight if at all possible.
Please wear a mask while inside the building!
Archers please wear your 2022 Archery shirt and jeans/khakis with no holes while you are helping out.
If you are signed up to work later in the day but are able to be there earlier or are able to stay beyond your scheduled time the extra help will be greatly appreciated.
The first flight on Friday is at 7PM and the last starts at 9PM. The first flight on Saturday is at 9AM and the last starts at 5PM. Concessions, Raffles, and Admissions will be closing at 5:30PM and the Lane Officials and Announcers will be done at 6:00PM. We are planning for awards around 6:30PM.
If there are any questions or concerns please let me know!
Thank you all for your help and support, lets put on an awesome tournament!
If you have a dish or snacks/drinks you would like to donate for the coaches/hospitality room please bring that Thursday or Friday (13th and 14th) between 6:30-8:30. Any additional donations are welcome!
We have had a few people offering to donate additional baskets or items to raffle for the tournament and that is greatly appreciated! You can bring it to the school during any practice or if we need to meet with you outside of practice we will make that happen as well.
Thank you all for your help!
The Bullitt East Annual Tournament will be on January 13th, 14th, and 15th this year as the calendar has shown for some time now. Since it is right around the corner, it is now time to outline how things will go and what we need of you:
The link to sign up for positions will be available via a remind message.
If there are any questions or concerns about the items each archer is to bring in please let us know.
Below is what we need from each Archer:
Below is a breakdown of our volunteer positions needing filled:
We hope that everyone had a good Christmas and an awesome start to the new year. With practice starting back up tomorrow we want to make sure everyone is healthy and ready to return!
Also, with our tournament coming up in 2 weeks we will need a lot of help! On Tuesday we will have a list for what each archer needs to bring in (hotdogs, buns, drinks, ect.) and a link will be sent out to sign up for the various positions needed to run our tournament.
These positions will be listed with how many we need of each and the time we need you for. These will only be needed for Friday night and during the tournament time (9am - 6pm) Saturday January 14th and 15th. You will not be there the whole day unless you just want to, a couple of hours from everyone makes a world of difference!
We had another 2nd place taken home for BE Archery this weekend. The consistency is awesome to see! Keeping right around last week's score with a 3317 for the Gold team, we also gained 59 points on the Red team to bring their score to 2978.
We would also like to recognize those that placed individually:
2nd Place HS Boys to Nathan Abell (With a 293 and a shootout)
4th Place HS Boys to Allen Gentry
1st Place HS Girls to Graicey Greenwell (With a personal best of 282)
2nd Place HS Girls to Emily Hendricks
4th Place HS Girls to Trinity Smith
It is awesome to see so many archers improving and setting new personal bests. Even if you did not get recognized in the top 5, there were still a lot of shooters that shot their highs and are constantly improving. Keep up the hard work!
We do not need to worry about beating other teams, we only need to focus on doing the best we can and bringing our A game. This group has so much potential and talent! If we get both the Red and Gold teams to reach their potential then the trophies and wins will naturally follow.
Recognition is not the goal, it is the result of your hard work and dedication.
Congrats to the team for taking home 2nd this past weekend!
This was the first in person tournament of the season and we had a 3324 to kick it off. We would also like to congratulate the individuals that placed:
1st Place HS Boys to Nathan Abell
4th Place HS Boys to Jacob Campbell
3rd Place HS Girls to Trinity Smith
4th Place HS Girls to Rachel Lagermann
Congratulations everyone! We look forward to seeing what all we are able to do this year.
Special Thanks to Nathan Abell and his parents for picking up the team trophy!
Bernheim Tournament Information:
There will be construction on I-65 South starting on Friday and all day Saturday. The right two lanes will be closed and their will be backups going south. Please let your parents know and to plan to leave early. We have open spots on most flights so if archers are caught in the traffic we should able to accommodate them when they arrive.

Archers will shoot 2 to a lane and will score each other
